Adidas produces rackets that are consistently at the technological forefront. With a global padel racket market share of 15%, Adidas is a dominant force, known for its premium materials, meticulous construction, and strong affiliations with top-tier professional players.

Adidas Padel Technologies

Adidas differentiates itself with several key innovations. Its most notable feature is the Weight & Balance System, found on high-end models like the Metalbone and Adipower Multiweight. This system uses a series of small, removable screws in the frame, allowing players to meticulously adjust the racket's weight by up to 12 grams and shift its balance, offering a level of customisation unmatched by most competitors.

The Octagonal Structure technology reinforces the frame with an eight-sided carbon tube to maximise rigidity and power. For enhanced spin, Adidas employs Spin Blade technology, a 3D relief on the racket face, and the Smart Holes Curve pattern, which optimises hole placement. Newer lines like theCross It introduce the Dynamic Air Flow system for improved aerodynamics and an Extra Power Grip—a longer handle that increases inertia for more powerful two-handed backhands or smashes.

Racket Portfolio

  • Professional/Advanced Series (Metalbone & Adipower): This is the pinnacle of Adidas technology. The Metalbone 3.4, wielded by pro Ale Galán, is a diamond-shaped racket built for pure power, with the Metalbone HRD+ variant featuring a harder EVA core for an even more aggressive response. The Adipower Multiweight CTRL 3.4, the choice of Alex Ruiz, is its control-oriented counterpart, featuring a round shape and the full customisation of the Weight & Balance System.3 These professional models typically weigh between 345-365 g (before customisation).
  • Intermediate Series (Cross IT & RX): The Cross IT range is an innovative offering for advancing players, blending power and control with its unique aerodynamic and grip technologies.30 The
RX Series provides excellent value, often using a combination of carbon and fibreglass to balance performance and comfort, with models like the RX Series Light being particularly popular.
  • Beginner & Casual Series (Drive & Match): For newcomers, the Drive 3.4 and Match 3.4 rackets are ideal. They are designed for forgiveness, featuring round shapes, soft EVA cores, and fibreglass faces for maximum comfort and a large sweet spot. These rackets offer exceptional quality for their price point.
  • Junior Rackets: Adidas provides scaled-down versions of its iconic pro rackets for young players. The Adipower Junior and Metalbone Youth models use softer fibreglass and lighter weights (around 310-325 g) to ensure they are manageable and safe for developing arms, while still looking like the rackets of their heroes.
